Not quite, but soon, soon. This painting will hang in the Pembroke 4 show; the theme is "Breathing Space".

What can I say?  I guess I'm just a Northern European genre painter at heart... I've been wanting to paint these scenes for ages, particularly the pick'em up guys. What is it that they say about hoods?  "If you open it, they will come?"  The paintings are small, and so will go quickly- check  "tender paint" in a week or so.

My studio mate, Zenon, is no longer with me as of a few weeks ago.  This was not something I'd anticipated, and my focus has been drifting into some sort of vacuum now that he's not sleeping on the blue oriental under the skylights.  This means I can roll back on my stool without wondering if he'll be under it, but that's not wholly a good thing.  It'll be a while before I stop having the impulse to cluck at him to follow me down the stairs.
In any case- Z's favorite walk was through the Arboretum near here; he'd be positively inspired for the entire trail system.  That's where we found the spot that's pictured in the "Into the Wood" canvas, which is back on the easel right now for finishing.
